Event Details

Curious about learning American Mahjong? Join us every Friday in March at the library as we learn the ancient Chinese tile game that is sweeping the nation! It is important that you can attend all of the sessions in order to fully understand the game. The library will provide all game materials.

Week 1 - Learn the American Mahjong Set with all the moving parts: basic rules, Charleston, titles, groups, how to use jokers, and vocabulary such as pungs and kongs. 

Week 2 - Reading the card and understanding it, and building hands.

Week 3 - Strategy, defense, and a game with the teacher. 

Week 4 - Practice winning a hand with one suite.
